A NEW HOME FOR JAKE by Linda Jennings
This is a wonderful book by Linda Jennings. There is a horse called Jake who is the main character and his mum who is a main character too. His mum said "When you are older you won't be with me any more". Jake said " I don't want to leave you".There was a girl riding Jake and Jake tried to throw her off his back. This book is really good to read. It would be for 7 or 8 year olds. Ivanna F
JACK STALWART by Elizabeth Hunt
Jack Stalwart is a nine year old secret agent who works for the GPF. The GPF sends Jack a dinosaur book written by Lewis Porter. I liked the part where Jack Stalwart fights a dinosaur. It was interesting when Jack got a book from the GPF. I would recommend this book for children aged 5- 8. Cameron M
THE THREE LITTLE PIG by James Orchard Halliwell-Phillipps
There are three little pigs and a big bad wolf. There is one with straw and one with sticks and one with bricks. I liked it when the wolf fell down the chimney. This is a good book for boys and girls. I think it is suitable for ages 2- 6. Mark C
FOUR MICE DEEP IN THE JUNGLE by Geronimo Stilton
This is a funny book by Geronimo Stilton. A spider jumps out and scares the mice while they are in the middle of the jungle. They are only mice so they will be scared. I really like this book and the pictures are good to look at too. This is a good book for younger children. Chloe H
THE HODGEHEG by Dick King-Smith
The Hodgeheg is a very funny book by Dick King-Smith. The hedgehog gets a bang on the head and he always gets his words mixed up. I liked it when the hedgehog bumped his head when he was crossing the road to the park and I liked it at the end when the hedgehogs were crossing the road. I don't like it when the hedgehog didn't get any food. I would recommend this book for under 9s. Jenny D
WHAT MONA WANTS, MONA GETS by Dyan Sheldon
It's story about what Mona wants. It's their grandad's birthday and they went out to get him a present. Mona and her mother and grandad and a shopkeeper all had a party for their grandad's birthday. They celebrated at the party and went home to a nice warm bed and cuddled their teddies. Olivia V and Jade N
ACE by Dick King-Smith
Ace is a pig born with a cross on his but. He likes to watch TV. His best friend is a goat. Ace's family were taken away and he was left behind. It is a good book for 6 and 7 year olds. William W
THE DARE GAME by Jacqueline Wilson
The dare game is a great book about a girl in Year 3 called Tracy Beaker. It was written by Jacqueline Wilson. Tracy Beaker isn't very popular and no-one wants to be her friend. She lives with her foster mum and they always argue. But then her real mum comes and she goes to live with her. I liked the book because I love the way Jacqueline Wilson thinks. In conclusion I would recommend this book for children at the age of 8 to 10. Alice Y

The Hodgeheg is a hilarious book by Dick King-Smith. The book is about a hedgehog called Max who gets a good bang on the head. I like the bit when he bumos his head and gets his words mixed up. I also like his sisters - they are funny. I think this book is for younger children.

It's about a little mouse who has 11 brothers and sisters who make fun of him because he is called Wolfgang. I liked it when werewolf was on the piano. Tom O
MATILDA by Roald Dahl
Matilda is a fantastic book written by Roald Dahl. Matilda is a small girl and her mum and dad are always mean to her. Then when she goes to school her headmistress is a great hammer thrower and she's called Miss Trunchbull. I really liked it because it was hilarious. In conclusion this is a book for 7 to 10 year olds. Sophie W
THE THREE LITTLE WOLVES by
There were three little wolves and a very bad pig. I liked it because the wolves kept making houses but the pig kept doing funny stuff to break the houses down. Younger children would like this book.

PANTS ON FIRE by Victoria Lloyd
Once there was a boy called Toney Trebely and he was the biggest liar ever. His grandma bought him some new pants and he showed them off. His pants were on fire and everyone could see his bottom. His grandma also bought him some football boots. I like the story because it is the same as Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire. I think this book would be good for grown-ups. Archie B
VICIOUS VIKINGS by Terry Deary
The vicious Vikings is a funny book by Terry Deary. I liked the part when the man slipped over a banana peel and I didn't like the part when he said "I'll eat your head off". Year 5 might enjoy reading this book. Andrew D
FAT LAWRENCE by Dick King-Smith
Fat Lawrence is a great book written by Dick King-Smith. Lawrence is a very, very, very fat cat who eats four meals a day. He eats breakfast at one place, then another, and another and a final one at the end of the day. I really liked Fat Lawrence so I read it over and over again. My favourite bit was when he got skinny and asked a female cat if she loved him or not but she said she fancied a fat cat. That was him. I would think children between 3 and nine would enjoy this book. Anna Bartlett

THE SMASHING SAXONS by Terry Deary and Martin Brown
It's about the old Saxons stealing jewellery and money. I liked it when a horse got mad with a man and the man said "I think it is wild now". I didn't like it when the man fell and died. I think children between 6 and 12 years old would like this.

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS by Kent Osborne
Spongebob is a sponge who lives in a pineapple at the bottom of the sea. There is also a starfish whi us called Patrick. He is Spongebob's best friend. My favourite part of the story is when Planton dresses up at Patrick's to fool Spongebob and then he gets zapped by a tough jellyfish 5 times. Lewis J
EMMA THOMSON'S FELICITY WISHES CLUTTER
CLEAN OUT and OTHER STORIES.
The main characters are Holly,Polly, Daisy and Felicity. Felicity is a
clumsy fairy Daisy is a flower fairy and Polly is a tooth fairy and
they are up to recycling in the story and picking up rubbish from

ATTACK and INTERCEPTOR JETS by Michael Sharpe
I would recommend this book to someone who is interested in fighter jet planes.  The book has an introduction which tells you about the things inside the book and the history of jet planes.  It is a good book to read and it tells you about army forces and the jets within the world.  It would be hard to read if you could not read to level 11, as I found it hard to read.

BATTLESHIPS and CARRIERS by Steve Crawford
I would recommend this book to someone who can read 311 pages and someone who knows about engineering and war.  It's about ships from the war and which country they come from.  The book shows how many people the ships hold and how much they weigh.  The book also shows details of how fast the ships can move, for example 11 knots. HERE I AM SAID SMEDLEY by Simon Puttock
Smedley is very shy but there is a big girl who stands out and she sits next to Smedley. One day the big girl says to Smedley "do you know it is best if you stand out".I did not like it when he went to his grandma's house. Holly B

My pet mad kid Vicky has a nervous newt named Nicky, a rat called Ricky, a mouse called Mickey, plus a stick insect called Sticky Dicky. I liked the jokes. Jasmine R

This book is about a boy who saves the world from a dinosaur. I liked the bit where the dinosaur broke through the door. Matthew D

George was going on holiday to Aunt Primroses house. He did not know that Aunt Primroses sister Violet was a sea hag. He also did not know that his Aunty had the powers of a cuttlefish. I liked it when the sea hag jumped into the sea. Harriette

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO-JO! by George Birkett
It is Jo-Jo's birthday and she is having a hide and seek party. She has a little sister. She makes a cake. Her friends are called Poppy, Ted and Ziggy. I didn't like the part when she was opening all the presents. Holly B

The Swifts play in a charity cup in which many starts from the past are playing an exhibition game. I liked when the Swifts scored from a free kick. I would have liked more pictures. Sam N

Robin Hood saved Will from the sheriff. He remained quietly in Sherwood Forest. I liked the illustrations.

WINNIE'S MAGIC WAND by Valerie Thomas
Winnie threw the dress into the washing machine. Then she threw in her towels, her pyjamas and her stripey tights. I liked the bit where the nagic show was on. I think it was a bit boring. Lauren W
FRANNY K STEIN by Jim Benton
The book is about Franny the mad scientist. In the story Franny is different to all the other children. They thought she was weird and strange. The pictures were very good. Matthew D

There was a boy called Ben. There was a dog called Digger. Ben had to take Digger to school. They had to take Digger to school because they were drawing him. I didn't like the part when they did a magic trick with the children. There were too many pictures in the book. Ella W

On Zeta's tenth birthday she saw a Merman swimming with seals and suddenly the Merman swam upwards and scared Zeta. I liked it when the boy met the Merman. Macie H

Rosie found horses being whisked off through the air. When she opened her eyes she saw a dragon then something pushed her. It was a princess! I liked when Isabella opened the secret passage. Harriette C

There was an old miller in a village who had three sons. When the miller died two became very greedy and decided to keep the mill and donkey. The youngest one said "What shall I do?" . "You keep the cat and keep out of the way." My favourite part was when the cat and one of the sons ran away. Ellie W

It's all about children trying to stop a dragon from getting people. The best bit was when the dragon came.

This is a story of a very wicked little troll. One day he made a mirror which had most extraordinary powers. Everything good that was reflected in it vanished into nothing. I liked the bit were the witch turned fat in the mirror.
I didn't like the witch. She was absolutely horrid to the people. Jasmine R

Holly had a wobbly tooth. Holly writes a letter to the tooth fairy. She asks the tooth fairy lots of questions. Every night Holly puts letters and her teeth under her pillow. I like the book because there are small letters in it. Amna S
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE by J.K. ROWLING

The book is about the Tri Wizard Tournament where four wizards compete in a magical contest. The winner will receive eternal glory. My favourite part was when they got the egg off the dragon. I like all the Harry Potter books. Sam N

A little girl called Sophie loves animals and wants to be a lady farmer when she is grown up. Sophie finds a cat and names it Tom. My favourite part was when we found out that Tom was a girl and had kittens.

Teddy was bored. Charlie was at school. Mum was busy and the phone kept ringing. I liked the part when Teddy was happy because he had a friend. It was funny. William H
Pinocchio PINOCCHIO by CARLO COLLODI

There was an old man called Geppetto. He made a puppet of wood. He named him Pinocchio. He wished he was a real boy and all of a sudden the puppet came to life and he was a real boy. I liked the parts when Pinocchio's nose grew so big and when he became a real boy. It was an interesting story and funny and makes us understand not to lie or our noses will grow.

Operation Itchy OPERATION ITCHY by JEANNE WILLIS

It is about a dog who is a secret agent. He is going to stop mega fleas froom spreading on dogs. Mad Manx is making the fleas spread. I liked the part where Agent Barker does a karate kick on Mad Manx and he falls into the pool of mega fleas. I liked the story but also there are flaps and maps to look at. William M
Mr Majeika and the Ghost Train MR MAJEIKA AND THE GHOST TRAIN by HUMPHREY CARPENTER

Mr Majeika taught class three and one day he let them go to Adventure Galaxy as a school trip. Hamish had a girlfriend called Wilhelmina Warlock. She was a witch. My favourite part was when Jody saw a little hatch. It was too heavy so she called for Hamish and she lifted it with him. I liked it because I like spooky things. Ruth H

Perfect Peter lost a tooth and Horrid Henry was very jealous so one dark night he took his halloween fangs and put them under his pillow. In the morning he found the fangs still lying there. My favourite but was when Henry took his halloween fangs . It's funny and I think you might love to read it. Yasmin H
The Crystal Slipper THE CRYSTAL SLIPPER

Alice went to a castle and some twins wanted to wear the crystal slipper and broke the glass case and Alice got the blame. I liked the part when Alice tried on the crystal slipper. I liked the story because it was interesting.

Horrid Henry's Revenge HORRID HENRY'S REVENGE by TONY ROSS

Horrid Henry and Perfect Peter get in a cat fight. My favourite bit was when Boss Bill told Horrid Henry to photocopy his bottom and lots of pictures of his bottom came out. The book was really interesting and it was fun to read and it had some funny parts in it.

One day Horrid Henry was naughty at school. He never did as he was told and he went to the headteacher. He told lies to the teacher so he was not allowed to go to football and he went to it. My favourite part was when he got told off. I thought it was good. Nicky M
The Little Mermaid THE LITTLE MERMAID

The Little Mermaid dreamed of a handsome prince and one day she went up on top of the sea and saw a handsome prince sailing by. Suddenly a storm came by and the ship sank down and the prince went under the water. But then the Little Mermaid rescued the prince. I thought the book was very good.

  THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF by JUDY HAMILTON

The boy shouted wolf three times. The first two times the villagers came because they believed him but the third time they did not and there really was a wolf. My favourite part was when the boy shouted to the villagers "Wolf, Wolf" and they came running. I liked it because it was funny and sad. Kyle A
The Twits THE TWITS by ROALD DAHL

Mr and Mrs Twit do some terrible things to each other. Mrs Twit put her glass eye into Mr Twit's beer. Mr Twit put a big green frog in Mrs Twit's bed. My favourite part was when the Muggle-Wump monkeys put the Twits upside down. I liked the book because it was funny. Emma T
Back to front benjy BACK-TO-FRONT BENJY by DICK KING-SMITH

Maggie and Bill both liked travelling backwards on a train. When they had a baby called Benjy he did everything backwards but one day there was a storm and Benjy went back to normal. My favourite part was when he went back to normal. It was really well described. Amy S
killer cat THE RETURN OF THE KILLER CAT by ANNE FINE
The vicar comes to cat sit the cat Tuffy because the owners go on holiday. The cat is mischievous, climbs up a tree and lands in Melanie's basket and she becomes the new owner. In the end the real family find the vicar is horrible to the cat. My favourite part of the book is when the cat went up the tree.
I liked the book because the cat had an attitude. Holly M
schoolmouse THE SCHOOLMOUSE by DICK KING-SMITH
Flora and her family live in a school. They hide from the teacher and the children . When they went out of the mousehole on the wall she learned to read and write. They began to go out of the school and they went into a wood. They ran away from the owl and Flora had some baby mice. My favourite part was when Buck got his tail cut off by the owl. It was a funny book. Ben H

Mel needed to give Thunderfoot away but she didn't. My favourite part was the end because everyone was happy . I liked the book because it had good pictures in it.
