We are very proud to announce that St Mary’s is now officially an International School. We have gained the full accreditation of the prestigious International School Award granted to schools who can show a sustained commitment to teaching the international dimension throughout their curriculum. We received our award and certificate from Jonathan Dimbleby at a presentation ceremony in London.
Our portfolio of evidence was judged by the panel to be a
“ Strong submission with full commitment to international curricular
activities”
Our Comenius activities are embedded within the curriculum and alongside these are the many ways that we emphasise an international perspective in our teaching and learning. Every year we welcome visiting teachers and students from Norway, France and Germany, we organise whole school activities such as the World Cup Day and extend this so that children learn more about different countries and cultures.
