Recorder Club

Recorders are enjoyed by many children from years 3 to 6.

The recorder groups play at lots of different events including, Hull festival, Hornsea festival, church open days, the summer concert and school church services.

In year 5 the recorder players have the opportunity to play the treble recorder.

In year 6 some children can learn the tenor recorder. Lessons are held at lunchtime where varieties of music from duets to quartets are played. Some groups use recorder books written by John Pitts including well known songs such as Incy Wincy Spider, The Helston Fury Dance and Amazing Grace.

Organised by Miss Cottingham, the recorder teacher, John Pitts sometimes comes to hold recorder workshops. Recorder players take pleasure in playing these instruments and appreciate the chance that they have.
