The Stealing of FireY4 2005 |
Year 4 proudly presented The Stealing of Fire to a packed hall of parents and friends on Thursday 3rd February 2005.
The children used the spoken word, dance and song to retell the myth of how fire was first taken by the crow for the creatures of the world, passed to the jaguar and then stolen on behalf of the people of the world by an inquisitive and brave young boy called Monan.
The production took place in the round and everyone pulled together, remembered their lines and came in at the right time. Special highlights on the night were the Jaguar Song, complete with actions, and the opening dance, which the children subsequently performed at the Primary School Festival of Dance at Longcroft School.
Mrs Morley and Mrs Robinson would especially like to thank parents and friends for providing wonderful costumes for the children. Thanks are also extended to Mr Mason and Mr Hickey for producing a DVD of the performance which is now available for parents to buy from the school office.
