I am delighted to welcome you to St Mary’s CE Primary School website.
St Mary’s is a very friendly and caring school with the education and happiness of every child as our main concerns. We offer a high standard of education based firmly on the individual needs and abilities of each child and work hard to provide stimulating and challenging activities which help to make learning enjoyable. Our curriculum is inclusive and creative, incorporating interactive and fun activities to stimulate and motivate learning. It is provided by a team of highly qualified, enthusiastic and hard-working staff. They ensure that the atmosphere of the school promotes achievement in all areas of every child's development.
High standards of work and behaviour are expected at all times. The school has had higher than average national test results and many visitors, including the last Ofsted inspection team (2006), comment on the excellent behaviour of our children.
We have strong links with St Mary’s Church and our local community. We strive to ensure that our school provides a secure, stimulating and supportive environment which promotes spiritual, moral, social and cultural values within a Christian context. We also have established international links with school in many different European countries including Slovakia, Sweden, Spain and Poland.
Good relationships with parents and carers are considered by us to be vital in ensuring every child’s future
happiness and success at school. We want there to be a real partnership between yourselves, the children, staff and governors based on trust, honesty and realism. Working together, it is my firm belief that we can help provide an excellent and enjoyable start to every child's education preparing them to meet the many opportunities and challenges their future will hold with confidence.
